January 2008

Welcome, 2008! I believe this upcoming year will be an interesting one politically, economically and spiritually. James 4:14 says that "our life is like a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away." Have you ever felt like that? Have you ever said something like "Where did the time go?" or "It only seems like yesterday when..."? We all have and if we are not careful we can end up living a lot of years without experiencing a lot of life in those years. Let's not settle for going through the motions of life only to eventually ask the question "Where did it go?" Don't measure your time here on earth in how many years you lived but in how much life you experienced. Here are a few tips on how to experience life in your New Year:

Take time to count your wins instead of your losses. Sometimes it is so easy to focus on the losses that we forget about the wins. I was talking to a salesperson recently and she was telling me that she had been on the job for about one year. She mentioned the number of new clients she obtained and it was more than she thought. It would have been easy for her to focus on all the times she was turned down but when she stopped to evaluate the year she realized all of the success she had. If we examine the past year, I'll bet you that we would learn that we won more battles than we lost!

Discover what you learned from last year. I heard a man say once that he couldn't wait until next year to find out what he was doing wrong this year. Well, the next year is here. Just like a new day brings fresh optimism, the New Year brings a fresh perspective on life. Reflect... examine... learn from what you did right... learn from what you did wrong. Your rearview mirror in your car provides a view that the windshield cannot. Remember in every failure and in every mistake is a hidden opportunity to learn and grow. Mistakes can become failures or they can become opportunities... the choice is yours.

Worship God by surrendering to His will. I could give you a hundred definitions of worship and they would probably be right. Since true worship comes from the heart it could be expressed in many different ways. Let me give a thought on what worship is: Worship is declaring how valuable God is to you by surrendering your life completely to Him. Words are important but can often be vain and empty. However, words plus your actions equal the real you. I believe God quickened something to me recently that this year would be a year of worship by completely surrendering to God. Surrender your will for His…surrender your ways to His and you will see blessings like you can't imagine.

Learn three important words: LIVE, TELL, and SEND. If this message we call the Gospel is real to us (and I know it is because it has changed both you and me) then we have an obligation to share it with others. We share it by living it before people... We share it by telling people about it when given the opportunity... and we share it by sending it into places we can't go. Christian television goes into places we cannot go. It is allowed into intimate areas of people's lives that we would never be allowed into.

Planting a financial seed into this ministry is a wonderful way to start the year off right. Your financial support to this ministry reaches areas and accomplishes things that only eternity will reveal. Thank you for your support this month…You are making someone’s miracle possible.

If you would like to set up your monthly giving through your Debit or Credit card call Lisa at 318-322-1399.

We pray that you have a Blessed and Prosperous New Year!
Looking Forward to Hearing from You,
Mike & Kelli
